Find a film clip on YouTube that uses sound in an interesting way. Analyse the use of sound, making sure you use the key language we have learned about sound in film:
- Diegetic and non-diegetic sound
- Parallel and contrapuntal sound
- Sound bridges
Remember to discuss/analyse all the different types of sound present in the clip:
- Music
- Dialogue
- Voiceover
- Sound effects
- This clip begins with diegetic sound of the car driving then spray paint being used back with the non-diegetic beat sliding in with the shaking of the can seamlessly before the beat builds, there's so dialogue between to characters and the sound of the car and dust kicking up again, and finally as there's a massive reveal of a new setting a bustling, engaging city of art and passion and the non-diegetic music fully begins to play, a Japanese afro-beast hybrid which is parallel, as its an anime that takes clear inspiration from black street and counter culture that fades-out as they get to the gate of the city and dialogue continues.
