The movie is an adaptation of a memoir called Greetings From Bury Park by Sarfraz Manzoor, the adaptation closely followed his life as he was a struggling brown student in Luton that was introduced to Bruce Springsteen and uses his music to encourage him to follow his dreams of being an aspiring writer
